ANYONE ELSE REACHING FOR THE STARS IN 2022?
We love a good success story! It’s always so inspirational to read about other real human beings who turned their life around, or started with nothing, or achieved massive wins despite X, Y, or Z. In the real estate investing community, these stories are everywhere!
But continuing with our theme of “keeping it positive AND keeping it real,” we actually prefer the stories that have a mess in the middle. Why? Because after almost 15 years as entrepreneurs, we know that curveballs, messes and unbelievable obstacles happen – sometimes daily! We have more respect and admiration for real estate investors that overcome and problem solve. It’s not emotional, and it’s not personal. This is just our business decision.
Which brings us to today: this year we have some big goals! January has begun with some learning and networking with other real estate investors who are also growing and “figuring stuff out.” The path isn’t completely clear, and it definitely isn’t straight.
A big part of “the hand that lifts us up” is our team. From mortgage brokers to lawyers to real estate agents, every single person matters. Pivot is quite a cliché word these days, but let us simply say we’re no longer afraid to make changes to our team when it becomes necessary. The beauty of being a beginner is that you can start anywhere and improve your success. The beauty of a little experience is knowing better questions to ask, and having more confidence to adjust team members as required. And so, we take another step forward.
Another key component to our future successes in 2022 is ongoing learning with an open mind. It’s much harder than it sounds after a certain age! We are combining some mindset work, with some real estate knowledge, with some current economics learning. Oh yes, and marketing – always marketing/sales.
So this Omicron zig-zag along our path isn’t really a problem at all (from a business point-of-view). We will remember it in 10 years, but these few months will make up a very tiny portion of our real estate investor journey. We are using this time wisely as we prepare for growth and forward momentum.
Cheers to all of our colleagues in the real estate investing community! Many of us are guarding our mindsets from the conspiracies and negativity. Many of us are ready to launch our next chapters. And many of us are embracing the mess in the middle of our current stories, while preparing for the new view from the stars. Maybe a little melodramatic? Oh well, it’s the vision that matters! So hold onto your vision, and power on in your pursuit of your next star!
