WHERE DID THE DOG DAYS OF SUMMER GO?

First, let us say, last week we were intentionally practicing the art of keeping our mouths shut.  It’s harder than we thought.  In the worlds of construction and real estate investing, we are imagining that there are quite a number of people out there like us.  People who would LOVE to tell the truth about a situation, colleague or customer.

Moving on to this week, and WOW!!!  The dog days of summer are a little weird this year.  Instead of lazing around, relaxing in a lake, or leaving work behind –there’s a lot to process.  Suddenly it’s the summer of tough feelings and experiences.

Albertans, Canadians and travelers far and wide are shocked and horrified by the losses in Jasper.  A lightning strike, plus wind, plus some pine beetle timber, and in a very short timespan our beloved World Heritage Site was engulfed.  We are grateful for the lives and buildings saved through hard work and incredibly tough decision-making.

Sometimes it’s a blessing to be reminded that life can and does change, unexpectedly, and on a dime.

This weekend, cherish your loved ones and your fur-babies.  Enjoy your home, with all its dust-bunnies and slight imperfections.  Appreciate the nature and neighbours around you.  Toast to your health!  Share a meal with friends and/or family.  We’ll be spending a little time enjoying the now, the moments, and the simple pleasures of life.  Hope you can too!
