As we watch the events of this week unfold, we are tempted to share some thoughts, news, and opinions.
But then we realized, the world could look quite different in just a few short weeks. For example, the “new” OSFI rules for mortgage switches are already out the door for BMO customers; yes, really. It must be a very challenging time for mortgage brokers with so many lending changes.
Next up: Canadian politics have been a bit of a soap opera lately too, in our opinion. And now maybe there will be a real non-confidence vote? On the other side of our border, American politics has seen its own melodrama around the potential government shutdown—avoided at the last minute, as we understand it. 2025 could be quite a different world with new leaders in both the USA and Canada. With real estate fundamentals and influencers changing daily, sometimes almost hourly, this seems like a fabulous time for a break.
