INSPIRING PODCASTS & YOUTUBE
Last week we talked about some ideas for a summer reading list for real estate investors. But summer often involves travel time and wait time, where a book may be less than ideal (for example, if you’re driving!). Blasting your favourite tunes is always fun, but how about mixing it up with a little investment motivation? There are many great stories out there about the real estate investing journey.
The Everyday Millionaire by Patrick Francey has an episode for just about every style and shape of investor. And the beauty of this collection is that most of the storytellers begin at the beginning. Rarely does one of the guests start with a trust fund or pot of gold! The Truth About Real Estate Investing for Canadians is hosted by Erwin Szeto (aka Mr Hamilton). His podcast is based in Ontario, but truly reflects the wisdom of investors all across Canada. Breakthrough Real Estate Investing is hosted by Rob Break and Sandy MacKay. This one also has an Ontario flair, but many lessons are truly Canadian in nature. These three are a small sampling of the podcasts out there when you venture beyond the classic Tony Robbins podcast.
And what about those rainy days? We currently have three favourite YouTube channels. Tuesday Tilt Talks is hosted by Jared and Krista Hope; together they provide an honest look at the good, the bad and the sometimes humorous life of real estate investing in Alberta. Investor Life Inc is also a fabulous channel with humour, inspiration and real stories from Corey and Tiffany Young. This couple also has Alberta roots, with many connections to the investing community across Canada. And for the women out there, Mothers of Real Estate is a channel hosted by an incredibly successful group of female investors, largely based in Ontario. These ladies truly BLAST through every stereotype and excuse I’ve ever heard from women who invest. Edna Keep is an incredibly informed and successful multi-family investor from Saskatchewan. Her podcasts/youtube and Facebook provide great leadership for anyone on the path to their first or next multi-family property.
